Can my warranty be cancelled if I install a Fog Device?
Legally, a manufacturer or dealer cannot cancel a warranty unless they first prove that a part or procedure caused or contributed to a failure in your vehicle. There must be proven (not merely claimed) damage before a void. This is per the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act of 1975 (15 U.S.C. 2302 (C)). When Federal Warranty protection is denied or threatened, contact the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) at 202-326-3128 or http://www.ftc.gov. They cannot justly deny your warranty for getting better mileage, but some dealers may try. They are against better mileage because cars with good mileage are seldom traded in for a new one. Your lawyer can explain the facts to them. Plus the Max Warmer and Fog Squirter are non-invasive.

Where do I find 100% pure acetone?
I prefer to go to beauty supply stores for nearly pure acetone. The acetone sold at Sally's is reliable to be 99.4% pure and available in several size bottles. We buy a gallon can of near 100% pure acetone for about 16 bucks. Reagent grade acetone (high purity) is also found at student science centers near universities. It may be found on the net for such purposes as professional dyno testing or scientific experimentation. We sometimes use technical grade found on the internet because we have run into acetone with too much moisture or it may contain benzoate, an ingredient that raises the flash point and renders the acetone unworthy to improve vaporization.

How much acetone do I put into my fuel?
For gasoline we use three oz. per ten US gallons. We use 1 oz of any 5W-40 or 5W-30 synthetic oil  per ten gallons with the acetone but Acetone alone will work fine. The big advantage of adding the right oil to the mix is it turns your gasoline or diesel fuel into a nice lubricant and works wonders for emissions. This is wonderful for the life of your engine and reduces ring friction to near zero and gives perfect ring seal. This mix also protects your expensive diesel injectors from damage with running ULS diesel fuel. For diesel we use 4 oz. acetone per ten US gallons. Engines simply deliver better MPG with some acetone in the fuel. Acetone is one of the slowest burning fuel additives known. All the other methyl bearing molecules are slow burners. If you put too much of these into the gasoline, the fuel will burn slowly and you will lose efficiency. Knock causes fuel to burn suddenly. Too much acetone or xylene may cause slow combustion and/or too high an octane rating. The correct idea is to make combustion go at the right speed and have excellent vaporization to produce the best possible efficiency. For gasoline engines we use a mixture of 3 oz. acetone, 1 oz. xylene, and 1 oz. 5W-40 synthetic oil per ten gallons. The purpose of adding xylene is to protect the acetone and let it do its job of vaporizing the fuel and helping fuel to combust completely. Ethanol is an enemy to good mileage and xylene helps in that respect. To make our mixture, we use a graduated cylinder for measuring and a flask for stirring. A pyrex measuring cup could be used but I highly recommend marking it with tape and label "Danger, Do not use for food". We use an old stabil bottle with the long graduated neck for storing and pouring into the fuel tank. Old alcohol bottles or the small acetone bottles can also be used for storing the mixture and a long funnel to keep the mix off your paint is recommended.

How difficult is it to install the Max Warmer or Fog Squirter?
The job compares roughly to replacing a carburetor on an older engine. Any good mechanic can do it. We do the job in as little as 45 minutes. A client did it in 20 minutes. The only special precautions are for safety, which a good mechanic automatically observes. The normal results are 5-10 MPG better mileage. As we accumulate more information from the test units, you will be advised here. See the instructions:  and photos We just installed a Fog Warmer on our Mazda pickup and the job took about one hour because we went to a hardware store for fittings. The splice point for the fuel lines was near the fuel filter. The MPG boost was 11 MPG. Mileage went from 33 to 44 on a trip to Wisconsin. On a late Ford or Mercury the splice point is in front of the fuel pressure regulator. We suggest ONLY 3/8 hydraulic hoses from NRP Jones or GoodYear. Hoses come in the kit. A quick fuel line disconnect kit is available for cars and trucks from NAPA that makes the job easy. We use Lowell's Auto in Minneapolis to install our Fog Devices such as the Warmer and Squirter. These two parts work extremely well together.

What is better than ACETONE?
When a Max Warmer is installed to warm your fuel, the Acetone will work better.

What speed gives my car the best mileage?
The one that produces the least waste. This is easy to find with a vacuum gauge or ScanGauge you place on your dash. Drive your car at whatever speed gives the highest vacuum reading at cruise. A high manifold vacuum helps to tear apart fuel molecules to vaporize them with air to start an efficient combustion process in the chamber. Learn to back off on your gas pedal briefly as you drive for better MPG.

Is gasoline or diesel fuel dangerous to handle?
Certainly. Common gas has things like petroleum ether and other very toxic ingredients. Any fuel ignites easily and should never be taken into your house. Use metal cans to contain gasoline as it can melt many kinds of plastic.

Why are E20 and E85 gasolines being promoted?
It is a giant RIP because of federal money being thrown at the badly flawed concept of using ethanol to replace gasoline. The concept is dead wrong because ANY use of alcohol in fuel DECREASES mileage severely. It contributes to making gasoline quit burning in the latter part of the power stroke. Ethanol and hydrogen actually cost more energy to produce than the energy they release in an engine. The existing global heating will render ALL U.S. crops in the near future to be inefficient due to unpredictable weather changes. The magazine SCIENCE just released a powerful study of the issues facing Earth over the next 50 years. Frightening. For instance meteorologist Paul Douglas (who has studied this problem in depth) predicts corn in the future will only grow in Canada rather than in the lower 48. Very impractical idea to push ethanol because it kills Thermal Efficiency in engines, running TE below 20-percent. Ethanol is only good for making money for select groups. We need the voters to decide if ethanol should be added to gasoline. Politicians know nothing about the subject. Let's take it out of the hands of the rich politicians. Besides, it seems clear that it is unconstitutional to force all of us to buy ethanol laden gasoline when the stuff hurts mileage as much as it does. We should challenge the constitutionality of laws that favor ethanol because ethanol is NOT a solution. It is like throwing gasoline on a fire. Ethanol is the product of greed and stupidity. We need fuel that increases TE rather than lowers it. The University of Minnesota just published a report that is given in the article on alcohol. The report says ethanol is not the right future fuel or savior it is being made out to be by special interest groups.

What is the ideal fuel for vehicles?
It is NOT hydrogen or ethanol. No way. Reasons include the lack of range and explosivity of hydrogen. A lack of range is common for ethanol too, along with poor mileage and damage to fuel systems. It is good old propane. Ethanol has a much lower BTU content than gasoline. PROPANE is problem free and delivers excellent vaporization and MPG. Outboard motors will not run right with alcohol in the gasoline. Boats can stall way out there on some large lake. Ethanol should be removed from gasoline so we can all get decent mileage. In most vehicles, propane is the ideal fuel--without question. Just look in any warehouse at the forklifts. But it is not exotic. It is old stuff, hence the idiot politicians will not entertain the idea of demanding good gasoline or good diesel fuel that can give us high mileage right away. WE HAVE TO DEMAND THAT THE OIL COMPANIES MAKE MORE EFFICIENT GASOLINE. YOU AND I have to do this. Let us end their long and extravagant reign with inefficient gasoline and diesel fuel.

Is acetone going to make my gasoline burn faster?
Absolutely not. The tiny amount of acetone we recommend has zero effect on the base chemistry of the fuel. Acetone does not make gasoline burn faster but it DOES make it burn better, especially in second stage combustion where fuel usually burns inefficiently. The combustion rate is determined by compression ratio and the molecular composition of the many components in gasoline. The gas still remains 99.7-percent gasoline. Saying something idiotic like that is a deliberate attempt to undermine acetone as a mileage aid. The smoothness of engines with acetone is remarkable. A faster burning fuel would knock and run rough, which is certainly not the case with acetone. What does happen is much more complete combustion, a much lower rate of emissions and better MPG. Besides, your ScanGauge will not lie to you.

Is acetone harmful to my valves?
No. What is harmful is late timing or lean mixtures and unburned fuel. But these first two conditions generally disappeared when they put in computers to manage your engine settings. The harm of acetone is one of the myths being passed around by the big oil to those who will listen. No valve has ever been hurt simply by using a tiny bit of acetone in gasoline or diesel fuel. Acetone is good for engines. Acetone cannot harm metal but some so-called experts are claiming it will corrode metals. Other so-called experts do not know the correct chemical structure of acetone. And one self-styled fuel expert did not know the difference between rubber and n-buna, yet he was critical of acetone. Some claim it is explosive when it is one of the slowest burning hydrocarbons. These people have obviously never used acetone.
